France Wins!
Only a few hours after I said that France can't win anything on the track, I am eating my words because France has just won the 3000m Men's relay in stunning fashion coming over the top of Kalon Dobbin of New Zealand on the last lap. The entire race was close and up until the last lap it was anyone's race apart from Italy who fell. With US/Colombian tensions high, there was tension in the air before the race but that battle didn't eventuate.

In the Junior Women's relay, Korea brought the house down when they won. The US picked up the silver and Argentina the bronze. Then, the Koreans won another gold in the Junior Men just a few minutes later. Holland took their first medal of the championship with the silver and they were elated. The USA took gold in the women's relay ahead of Colombia and Korea. Videos of all 4 relays can be found on our video page.

That concludes the track events, and Colombia head the list with 8 gold ahead of a very impressive Korea with 6 gold. New Zealand have got to be elated with 4 gold ahead of the USA in 4th with 3 gold.

Tomorrow is a rest day and then we kick off the road events on the 6th of September at 9am local time with the 200m Time Trial.
