Skates of America, is the ORIGINAL home of the Tampa
Classic Speed Invitational. Formerly named the Tampa
Skating Center, Rink owner, and Speed Coach Earl Boynton
began the legend in Tampa Florida. 1978 was the date
and the rest became history.
This
80’x180’ Rotunda Wood Skating Floor has
served up some of the best Speed Skating action in history
throughout the years, and has hosted some of the most
memorable skaters of all time! This year being the 30th
anniversary, will sure to be one of the best meets of
the year. We ask you to join us this Easter Weekend
for a weekend of family fun and exciting racing.

Skates is located off Hillsborough Avenue at 5121 North
Armenia Avenue in Tampa, Florida. Airline flights can
arrive at either Tampa International Airport, or the
Clearwater-St. Petersburg Airport. The Tampa airport
is approximately 10 minutes from the rink and the Clearwater-St.
Petersburg airport is approximately 20 minutes from
the rink.
Indoor races should conclude Saturday evening, and the
Outdoor should conclude on Sunday March 23 by 5:00 pm.
Elite
and Novice divisions, along with 2 person, 3 person,
and 4 person relays will be skated indoors. Awards will
be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in all Elite divisions
and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in all Novice divisions. Relay
awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
v Our competition is sanctioned by USA Rollersports
and the USA Rollersports guidelines will be strictly
enforced
The outdoor portion will be held on Sunday March 23,
2008 at the World Famous Raymond Jaymes Stadium. The
Track is a smooth surfaced road course and will feature
STAGE 4 of the United States Inline Racing Series. The
events will consist of Pro/Elite divisions with 3 distances.
The age category and recreational skaters will skate
2 distances.

There
will be an INDOOR PRACTICE on Thursday March 20th, 2008.
The cost will be $4.00 per skater.
